The Uninvited
Posted on October 10, 2008
Uninvited you came,
To a party I never threw.
Drawing blinds over sunshine,
How familiar are you -
- Who whisper as I retire,
Muttering as I rise,
Speaking of things I could have done,
Loathing, in humility’s guise.
But my muse you are, and lover.
Sweet Despair, as we share this cage.
The gnawing you send; the artistry it portends-
Delicious as it hits the page!
